SPH Presents: Concerts in the Chapel with Don Gabbert

This is a very special and rare performance in the area by the wonderful Don Gabbert. He will be joined by several local friends and outstanding musicians so don't miss this! There will be a cash bar available. This is not a BYOB event.

Don Gabbert was born in Fort Worth, Texas and raised in Tarrant County where he was a part of the burgeoning music scene of the 1960s. He received a thorough grounding in several genres and styles of American music. Don is the son and grandson of Irish immigrants and has spent much of his musical life tracing the connection of Irish and Texas music. He’s played everything from the blues to bossa nova and has always relied heavily on the wit and literacy that pervades the Irish character. After a long and fruitful military career Don returned to musical performance and spent several years as a travelling musician, performing in venues large and small. He performed and recorded extensively in North Central Texas and the country, and in several Irish and Celtic festivals, including the North Texas Irish Festival, where he was a favorite artist. Don is also quite the storyteller and any time spent with him is rich and rewarding and you’re likely to learn something! Although most of Don's engagements are private parties and corporate functions his favorite gigs are always concerts and festivals where he can 'be amongst ya'll.' Don loves a live audience!

After a rewarding and challenging musical adventure Don settled in San Angelo, Texas with his beautiful wife Wrennah and his constant companion, Welsh Corgi Finn. Don continues to pursue his musical aspirations with select performances in and around San Angelo and an occasional foray into DFW. Don's latest recording project is Donovan's Fancy released in 2022.
