Hailing from the heartland of Fairland, Indiana, Matt Mason has etched his name into the annals of country music history with a voice as authentic as the heartland itself. A seasoned singer-songwriter, Matt's rise to stardom has been a remarkable journey filled with triumphs and trials, but his unwavering passion for country music has always been at the forefront.
Born and raised in Fairland, Matt's journey began at Triton Central High School in Shelby County, Indiana. Surrounded by the sounds of traditional country music, he felt the pull of the genre from an early age. It was at eleven years old that Matt first picked up a guitar, setting in motion a lifelong dream of making music his profession. His destiny became clear during his teenage years when, at just sixteen, he had the honor of opening for the legendary Charlie Daniels in western Massachusetts.
Eager to chase his dreams, Matt wasted no time after graduating from high school in 2004. In a bold move, he packed his bags and made the pilgrimage to Nashville, Tennessee. Within three weeks of his arrival, he was already making a name for himself as a sought-after session musician and gracing live stages with his music.
In 2006, the world was introduced to Matt Mason through the hit show, "Nashville Star," where he showcased his incredible talents and finished fourth. However, this period in his life was marked by a struggle with alcohol and drug addiction, which he courageously overcame. Matt's resilience and determination eventually led him to the crowning moment of his career when he emerged as the winner of CMT's "Next Superstar" in 2011.
Following his victory on "Next Superstar," Matt Mason signed with Warner Records, a momentous milestone in his career. While anticipating the creation and release of a major-label album, he continued to tour and share his passion for music with fans. In 2012, he gifted the world with his EP, "America's Favorite Pastime," a glimpse into the immense talent and potential that lay ahead.
In 2016, Matt made the bold decision to go fully independent, an admirable step that allowed him to explore his creative freedom while nurturing his growing family. After nearly a decade away from the spotlight, Matt Mason is set to make a triumphant return in 2024, armed with new music and a story that inspires us all.
